Abby Lin Mikayla Keen, 18, of Palmer, Alaska, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, November 15, 2024. Abby was born on July 6, 2006, in Palmer, Alaska, and brought immense joy and love to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving parents, James and Melissa Keen, and her brothers, Carson, James, David Jeremiah, and her oldest brother, Jeremiah. Abby is also cherished by her grandparents, Larry Morris and Stella Bigley of Independence, Kansas, and Marge Keen of Lambertville, New Jersey. She leaves behind her uncle and aunt, Kip and Rose Boyakin of Phoenix, Arizona, Aunt Patti White of Winfield, Kansas, and Aunt and Uncle Rich and Donna Knechel, as well as numerous cousins and countless friends. Abby had a special bond with her Godmother, Linda McKee of Pensacola, Florida, and often delighted in mimicking Linda's Southern drawl.
Abby had a profound love for animals, especially her loyal German Shepherd, Diego, and her beloved cats, Pepper and Waffles. Her passion for horses led her to recently begin training with Equine Eagles, where she was pursuing her dream of becoming a horse trainer.
Abby was known for her vibrant social spirit. She loved hosting sleepovers, showing great compassion for her friends, especially those in need, ensuring they always had food and a warm place to stay. She cherished her lifelong friendship with Lily and found her soulmate in Caleb Nelson of Richmond, Kentucky. Abby and Caleb were planning their future together and dreaming of marrying before the end of this year.
An adventurer at heart, Abby loved hiking, horseback riding, camping, fishing, and spending time in nature. Her vibrant energy, love for her friends, and deep compassion for others—both people and animals—defined her life.
Abby will always be remembered for her giving heart, her boundless kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
There will be a viewing time for the public at Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home on November 25, 2024 from 3:00pm-3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the Equine Eagles to reflect Abby's passion for helping others and animals. Checks can be made out to Equine Eagles and delivered to Webb & Rodrick.
