Charles Everett Kirk Jr., 66, Elk City, Kansas passed away August 22, 2017 at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
Charlie was born December 29, 1950 to Charles Everett and Margaret Mary (Wilson) Kirk in Altoona, Kansas. Charlie attended Altoona, Kansas Schools. Charlie was united in marriage to Diane McDonald on October 2, 1967 to this union two children were born; Anthony L. and Racquel. The couple later divorced. On September 19, 1991 Charlie married Nancy R. Nixon of the home. Charlie was employed as a Millwright for M.E.C. in Neodesha, Kansas for 33 years until his retirement. Charlie enjoyed hunting, and fishing, he was a member of the Eagles Club in Neodesha, Kansas, of The American Legion Post # 139, and of the V.F.W post # 1186 of Independence, Kansas.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and one step-son, Jeremiah Northcutt. Survivors include: his wife, Nancy, of the home; one son, Anthony (Shelley) Kirk, Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Racquel (Justin) Voorhies, Cherryvale, Kansas; one step-daughter, Rachel Lyon, Independence, Kansas; one brother, Ray (Connie) Phillips, Iola, Kansas; two sisters, Diana (C.D.) Cline, Joplin, Missouri, Debbie Page, Carthage, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Brenda Richardson, Oswego , Kansas; Three grandchildren, Anthony D. Kirk, Nicholas Kirk, and Kaden Housel and Five step-grandchildren; Dylon (CA) Grant (KS) and Griffin (CA) Voorhies, and Garry Thomas Capps and Olivia Lyon, of Independence, Kansas.
