Charles Michael “Mike” Robinson, 76, Independence, Kansas passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory and no services are planned currently.
Mike was born January 1, 1948, in Independence, Kansas to Leland Willis and Opal Lorraine (Botts) Robinson. Mike attended and graduated from Independence High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the United State Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in 1970. Mike married Victoria Lynne Banning on October 19, 1968, in Independence, Kansas following his service in the Air Force, Mike received a BS from Pittsburg State University. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Mike was employed by Emerson Electric & Hackney & Sons for many years. Mike was active in the Shriners, he served as District Commander of the American Legion, and was a member of the Optimist Club. He loved golf, softball, fishing and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike also loved coaching his son’s sports teams including soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Tori of the home, two sons Michael Shane Robinson and his wife Lisa, Ryan Lee Robinson and his wife Sarah, two brothers, Pat Robinson and his wife Cathy of rural Liberty, KS; Cliff Robinson and his wife Karaleen of Farmington, UT, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
