Charlotte Helms

Charlotte Ann Hamburger-Hollis Helms, 80, Independence, Kansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Independence, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at The First Christian Church with Mark Lyon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church.
Charlotte was a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many. She had a deep love of music always involved in playing the piano and singing in church and community choirs. Charlotte's unwavering faith in God, gift of conversation and positive attitude endeared her to all. She will be missed, but remembered with joy.
Charlotte was preceded in death by Jim her husband of 52 years and son, Loy Helms. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children. Cheryle Bennett and husband Greg, Kelley Carroll and husband, Rusty, Sabra Futrell and husband Brent and Jim Helms and wife Debbie. Charlotte also has 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Houston, two sister-in-law's Cathy Brown, Ginny Starks, and numerous nieces and nephews.
