Clara Baker

Clara Mae (Pasley) Baker age 91, long time resident of Independence, KS passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 surrounded by loves ones at Arden Courts Memory Care facility in San Antonio, TX

She was born on June 22, 1931, in Americus, Missouri.  She graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, MO in 1948.

Clara married the love of her life, James Reese Baker on December 26,1949 in Fulton, MO.

She was a devoted wife and mother to 4 boys: Dave, Steve, Jeff, and Mark.

Clara was a long-time member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Independence with many church friends and residents of Independence.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim (1997), Jeff (2005) and Dave (2021).

She is survived by her 2 sons, Steve, San Antonio, TX, and Mark (Debra) Spring, TX, along with 5 grandchildren: Sean Baker (Austin, TX), Kaylee Baker (San Antonio, TX), Becky Bausch (Cincinnati, OH), Michael Baker (Cincinnati, OH), Maria Phillips (Cincinnati, OH) and 8 great grandchildren.

A remembrance of Clara's life will be held at Webb & Roderick Chapel in Independence, Kansas on Wednesday, January 4 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Rosary will be at 7:00pm.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Independence on Thursday, January 5 at 10:00am. Burial will follow the mass at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.  Shortly after the burial, please join family and friends at the St. Andrews Parish Center adjacent to the church.
