Debra Louise Kendrick, 62, of Independence Kansas passed away Thursday March 9, 2017 at Medicalodges of Independence, Kansas. Memorial services for Debra will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Webb and Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Debra may be made to AWOL can be left with the chapel.
Debra was born September 21, 1955 in Ft. Bolvoir Army Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia to Donald L. Kendrick Sr. and Patty (Cook) Patterson. Debra graduated from Independence, Kansas high school in 1973. She was a secretary of sales at Baker's Appliance. Debra had a domestic partner, Bob Ogle, of Independence, Kansas from 1997-2005. Debra quickly became attached to the children of the partnership and had remained friends throughout the years, more than friends they became family to Debra. She never missed a birthday party and always stayed in touch. She did a share of traveling and was a resident of several different places Pittsburg, Kansas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Houston, Texas; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Grove, Oklahoma before settling in Independence in 1996. In 1987, she served as a Reserve Deputy for Montgomery County Sheriff Office and was a life time member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Those preceding Debra in death are her father, Donald L. Kendrick Sr.; mother, Patty J. Patterson; step-father, Bill Patterson; grandparents; step-grandparents; and a brother, Brad D. Kendrick.
Loved ones surviving Debra are a brother, Donald L. (Bud) Kendrick Jr. of Independence, Kansas; three nieces, Katy (David) Loganbill, Laura (Justin) Engels, two nephews, Travis (Tonya) Kendrick and great nephew Bryce Kendrick; great niece Lillianna Kendrick; three aunts, Evelyn R. Clubine of Independence, Kansas, Betty Seefried of Placerville, California, and Margie Boggs of Independence, Kansas; two uncles, Fred Clubine of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Larry Cook of Lenexa, Kansas; domestic partner, Bob Ogle of Independence, Kansas; two step-daughters, Heather Ogle of Mound Valley, Kansas and Jessica Ogle of Mound Valley, Kansas; a step-granddaughter Meagan (Ogle) Maupin of Mound Valley, Kansas.
