Debra Jean (Grimes) Ray passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Debbie was born August 15, 1965, in Richmond, Indiana to Homer and Gloria Grimes. She grew up and attended school in Richmond later meeting the love of her life Terry Ray. The two married August 1, 1987, and made their home in Richmond, until moving to Kansas to be with family.
Debbie was a very outgoing and loving person. Many would say they knew when Debbie was around because they would hear her long before they saw her. She was a very strong determined woman who loved her family like no other.
In her spare time Debbie loved to spend time with all her grandchildren who knew her as “Googah”. This was one thing that brought her much joy in life.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father Homer, mother Gloria, brothers Jimmy and Wayne Grimes and one of her favorite people, her grandmother Wilma Campbell. Those left to carry on her memory include her daughter Anna (Leroy) Cohen, daughter Stacy Ray, and son Kaelan (Hayleigh) Ray, sisters Tammy Grimes, Shelia Stark, Tammy Hader and brother Tim Stark, along with 9 grandchildren.
Cremation services for Debbie will be held on November 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Christ Church, 1001 Elm Street, Neodesha, Ks. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the Ronald McDonald House. One of Debbie’s last selfless acts was being an organ donor in honor of her sister Tammy.
