Denny Hallett

Denny L. Hallett, 56, Independence, Kansas passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Independence, Kansas. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with Reverend Jim Sheldon officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may register on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., at the chapel. The family will receive guest from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Legion Post 139 and may be left with the chapel.
Denny was born September 19, 1959 in Centerville, Iowa to Burnis "Pete" and Barbara (Whitley) Hallett. Denny attended Iowa schools and Independence, Kansas Schools. Following his education Denny entered in to the United States Army and was stationed in Germany following his honorable discharge Denny returned home to Independence and married Karrie Mowery on June 20, 1984. The couple made their home in Independence, KS; Denny enlisted in the National Guard and served another 15 years. While Denny was serving his country he was also a hardworking and very active entrepreneur always thinking of ways to make money, he enjoyed buying and selling and trading items along with running his own business. Denny loved his wife, children and grandchild and family.
Denny was preceded in death by his father; Burnis "Pete" Hallett. Survivors include his wife Karrie, of the home, two son's Jeremy Lee Hallett and wife Bridget, Independence, KS; Christopher Lee Hallett and companion Shanelle Rogers, Independence, KS; his mother Barbara Hallett, Independence, KS; one sister, Cindy and husband Kenney Brown, Coffeyville, KS; one grandson Tyler Lee Hallett, and many nieces and nephews.
