Lendall Mock Jr. (Charles), 76, of Wichita, formerly of Independence, KS, died August 12, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.
He was born the son of Lendall Sr. and Nellie Mock on April 16, 1940, in Elwood, Indiana.
He attended Ball State University where he earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.
Dr. Mock spent his entire working career as an educator and retired after 22 years serving as superintendent of schools in Independence, KS.
He married Dorothy Chilcott in Muncie, IN in 1964 who proceeded him in death in 2001.
He is survived by their five children, John Mock of Portugal, Michelle Harrison of Nicholasville, KY, Stephen Mock of Wichita, James Mock of Wichita, and Catherine Rosner of Denver, CO. Their six grandchildren include Joshua Harrison, Jacob Harrison, and Jonathan Harrison, and Shelby Rosner, Riley Rosner, and Abby Rosner.
The family will welcome friends at Webb and Rodrick Chapel, 306 W. Main, Independence, KS on Monday August 15, 2016 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and then a processional to Mount Hope Cemetery where graveside services will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made which will assist in funding a High School Scholarship program. A memorial fund has been established for Dr. Charles Mock has been established at Community National Bank, 125 N Penn Ave., Independence, KS 67301
