Ernest Rex Bearman, 79, Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Friends may register from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the chapel with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church youth fund and may be left with the chapel.
Rex was born January 9, 1942, in Bell, California to Albert Ernest August and Essie Bell Bearman. The family moved to the LaFontaine, Kansas area while Rex was a boy. Rex attended and graduated Elk City, Kansas School and graduated from Elk City, Kansas High School in 1960. After graduation Rex started driving a milk truck and moved on to semi-trucks, driving well over 1Million miles in his career for Starcraft, Stoutco Inc., J.B. Hunt, Tri States, and MP Environmental before retiring. Rex enjoyed watching Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball, Nascar, Little League Base Ball and going to the Casino and having Sunday Dinners. Rex is a member of The First Baptist Church in Independence and Carson Lodge #132 in Elk City, Kansas.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Emma Lou Welch and an infant brother. Those left to cherish his memory include two nieces Tonya (Jerry) Hart, Independence, Kansas, Lisa (Monte) Dunham, Neodesha, Kansas, three nephews, Jerry (Mary ) Welch, Independence, Kansas, Joey Welch, St, Joseph, MO; Colonel Marcus (Kellie ) Welch, Arlington, VA, Brother in law Rex Jerry Welch, Independence, Kansas; and many great nieces and nephews and great – great nieces and nephews.
