Eva Felkins

Eva Faye Felkins, 93, Independence, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the chapel. Memorials may be made to Grace Memorial United Methodist Church and may be left with the Chapel.
Eva Faye was born October 21, 1925 in Urbana, Kansas to Levi H. and Beulah (Coder) Bailey. The family moved to Chanute Kansas where Eva Faye received her education graduating from Chanute High School following her education Eva Faye married Marion Felkins in Chanute on November 11, 1945. The couple moved to Independence, Kansas and Eva Faye was employed by the Montgomery County Clerk's office and then by Grace United Memorial Methodist Church as the secretary for twenty plus years.
Eva Faye enjoyed square dancing, singing in the church choir, crocheting and sewing along with spending time with her family and grandchildren. Eva Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marion, brother Duane Bailey. Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Ron Felkins, Independence, KS; Gary (Avis) Felkins, Corder, MO; Mike Felkins, Independence, KS; Patti Felkins, Caney, KS; one sister, Verla Hart, Portland, OR; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
