Francisco Esquivel Rodriguez, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 49 peacefully at his home in Independence, Kansas. Born on November 8, 1975, in Mexico City, Mexico, Francisco touched the lives of many with his warm spirit.
Francisco devoted over 25 years of his career to Cobalt Boats, where his hard work and dedication were greatly appreciated. Following his tenure there, he joined Cessna, where he continued to contribute his skills and knowledge from November 2024 until his passing. His commitment to his work paralleled his love for family; he found great joy in creating lasting memories with those closest to him.
An education that began with graduating high school laid the foundation for a life rich with experiences and interests. Francisco was not only a hardworking individual but also a passionate fan of sports and music. He had an unwavering enthusiasm for the Kansas City Chiefs and KU Basketball, which he shared with his children. His love for sports extended beyond mere fandom—he devoted many years to coaching youth soccer and basketball, impacting the lives of elementary and middle school children along the way.
In addition to sports, Francisco cherished outdoor adventures, from fishing to camping, and he loved to BBQ—a skill he often showcased on family outings. He also had a fondness for Air Jordan shoes and Ford Mustangs, embodying a zest for life that was evident in everything he did.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Francisco is lovingly remembered by his children, Frankie Esquivel, Ana Esquivel, and Jazmin Esquivel, along with Tiffany Anderson "Tif." He leaves behind his devoted parents, Francisco and Maria Esquivel, his sister Bensy (Mau), and their children Isabella and Iariza. Additionally, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who treasured his presence.
A memorial service for Francisco will take place on March 21, 2025, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Independence, Kansas, beginning at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will come together to celebrate his life and honor the legacy of love and joy he imparted on all who knew him.
