George "Bert" Goodwin Jr.

Stillwater, Oklahoma

George Albert Goodwin Jr. (Bert) 77 of Stillwater, Oklahoma formally of Independence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.

Bert was born October 3, 1944, in Independence, Kansas to George Albert and Dorothy Katherine (Wilson) Goodwin. Bert attended Independence, Kansas area Schools, following his graduation he attended Independence Junior College, following his Junior College, Bert was drafted into the United States Navy serving in Vietnam. After returning home from serving his county, Bert found employment with Atlas Cement Plant in Independence, Kansas. Bert married Alice May Beck September 14, 1969, to this union two children were born Matthew and Marcus. The couple later divorced. Bert was then briefly married to Linda Dalb the couple later divorced. Bert then married Suzie Kenworthy on March 5, 1981, and to this union Bert gained a bonus daughter Londa and the couple had Nathan. The couple later divorced. Bert was employed by Atlas Cement in Independence, Kansas for over 40 years retiring in 2001. Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, dancing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, and especially his beloved yorkie, Mickey.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, George Goodwin Sr. his mother Kathy Morrow, stepfather Clarence Morrow, a son Marcus, and sister Sharon Thornberry.

Survivors include his three children, Matthew Goodwin, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Londa Goodwin, Independence, Kansas, Nathan (Satina) Goodwin, Augusta, Kansas, sister Rita Goodwin of Cincinnati, OH, eight grandchildren, James Brandes, Madison Goodwin, Cameron, Trenton Crosby Goodwin, Rylan, Rogan, Rocky and Ruby Goodwin, five great-grandchildren, Caden, Jaxon, Everett, Hilary, Brady, and his beloved yorkie Mickey.
