Harold Dean Flowers, 93, of Independence, KS passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Eagle Estates in Independence, KS.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, KS under direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory of Independence, KS.
Harold Dean Flowers was born February 18, 1924 in Altoona, KS the son of Charles F. and Della D. (Davis) Flowers. Dean attended school in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School. Dean enlisted in the United States Army for three years, when Dean was discharged from the Army he attended Barber school and worked in Midway Barber Shop in Independence, KS for several years before retiring. Dean loved to work with wood, to tinker with things, and loved to work in his yard. In March 1972, Dean was united in marriage to Ethel May Pearson in Miami, OK. They then made their home in Independence, KS for the last 45 years.
Dean is survived by two step-sons; Jerald Albright of Grove, OK, and Lyndell Albright of Council Grove, KS; two step-daughters, Janell Johnson and husband, Jerry Maxwell, of Grove, OK, and Nonda Yates and husband, Nathen, of Des Moines, IA; and eleven step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
Dean is proceeded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel May; one brother, Floyd Flowers; and two sisters, Roberta Littleston, and Sylva Flowers. Online condolences can be left to the family by going to www.webbrodrickfuneralhome.com
