Harold A. Koger, 90, Elk City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Neodesha Care Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Friends may register from 12 noon - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Legion Harold R. Andrews Post 139 VFW Post 1186 or Kindred Hospice and may be left with the Chapel.
Harold was born October 2, 1926 in Elk City, Kansas to Virgil L. and Edna (Aemisegger) Koger. Harold attended Elk City, Kansas Schools and Independence, Kansas Junior College. Harold is a Veteran of The United States Army. Harold married Barbara Beck on May 26, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Harold was employed by the City of Independence, Kansas, StarCraft, and was a self employed farmer. Harold was also a longtime Member of VFW Post 1186 and the American Legion Harold R. Andrews Post 139. He enjoyed fishing, farming, playing pool, and spending time with his family.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Barbara; one son, Anthony Koger; three sisters, Norma Wright, Geneva Jacobs, and Lorene Pidick. Survivors include four daughters, Becky Koger, Pasadena, Texas; Cindy Chrane, Abilene, Texas, Diane (Dean) Bailey, Peoria, Arizona, Elaine Koger (David) Creamer, Elk City, Kansas; one brother Oren Allen Koger, Elk City, Kansas; one sister, Darlene ( John) Soloman, Chanute, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, Tanya Koger, Julie (Jason) Berger, Hayley Valentine, Antoinette Koger, Tissia Walker, Tara (Josh) Cameron, Garrett Chrane, Troy Charane, Joshua Bailey, Kimberley Bailey; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. Arrangements entrusted to Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.
