Jack Weaver

September 22, 1936 — April 9, 2016

Reverend Jack E. Weaver, Sr., 79, Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside service will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery, . a Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at God's Family Chapel in Independence with Reverend's Eldon Myers and Jim H, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Jack Weaver Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be left with the Chapel.

Jack was born on September 22, 1936 in Independence, Kansas to Jacob and Nelly (Roundoff) Weaver. He attended and graduated from Independence High School. Jack married Marjorie Wright on June 1, 1957 in Independence. Jack was employed by the Parsons Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, he and his wife managed the Roller Rink and Skate Plaza both in Independence, Ford Motor Company in Iola, and eventually owned and operated Jack's Transmission and Air Conditioning in Independence. and he was also a house parent for the Independence Boy's home. Jack attended many different churches including Chapel of Praise, Journey Church, Community Christian, and God's Family Chapel. Jack and Marjorie had a show on Cable vision called "Call to Worship" for over 10 years. Jack enjoyed dance skating, Fishing from a boat, he was a true outdoor's man and was a loving and caring person.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charlie Weaver, his wife Marjorie I. Weaver. Survivors include five sons, Jack E. Weaver Jr., of Cherryvale, Jay E. Weaver of California, Robert McDaniel, and Jimmy Goza both of Independence, and James Horner, Coffeyville; a daughter, Kilah Weaver, Independence; as well as two grandchildren; and a sister, Gwendolyn Wilse, Independence.

Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory has been entrusted helping the family will the arrangements.
