James Allen

James Roy Allen, Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Cremation has taken place with Webb & Rodrick Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 25th, 2022, at 10:00am at the Webb & Rodrick Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24th, 2022, from 1:00-7:00pm, with family greeting friends 5:00-7:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the family for an educational fund for daughter Brooklyn.

James Allen was born on February 7, 1972, in Winter Park, Florida.  He was the son of Wyatt and Alberta (Brooks) Allen. In 1979, his family moved to Independence, Kansas. He graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1990. After school he started working for Kansas Aviation. He later worked for Amazon from 2005-2021.

On December 28th, 2007, James married Crystal Ellison in Independence, Kansas. They made their home in Collinsville, Oklahoma. He enjoyed working on cars, rock music and cracking jokes. He especially loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as an outstanding citizen.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father Wyatt, older sister Paula Matlock, half-brother Patrick Allen and stepsisters: Shannon Shufeldt and Jeanie May Shufeldt.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Crystal, children: Elizabeth Allen, Joseph Allen and Brooklyn Allen, mother Alberta Shufeldt, stepfather Ray Shufeldt; brother William (Kimberly) Allen, sister Kenna (Prshan) Yapa; half-brothers: Wyatt (Dottie) Allen Jr. and Christopher (Jan) Allen; half-sisters: Rosella (Frank) Yontz, Linda Allen-Falk and Marie Allen; step-brother Sam (Lema) Shufeldt; step-sister Dora (Rocky) Darnall and several nieces and nephews.
