Jane Anglen Stryker (nee Clark) passed away peacefully at the Hilltop Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Cunningham, Kansas. Jane was 94 years old.
Mrs. Stryker was born on April 21, 1927, in Lawrence, Kansas to her parents, Dr. Porter M. and Parthenia (Pat) Clark. She grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Fine Arts in 1951. She married Edmond Milburn Stryker in 1949 and from this union they had two children Melissa and Jan. The Strykers moved to Wichita, Kansas after graduation from college where Jane was a loving Mother and Homemaker. She loved painting, silversmithing, ceramics, doll making and drying flowers for beautiful floral arrangements to name a few of her hobbies. After Edmond retired in 1989, they moved to the Stryker Ranch near Fredonia, Kansas where they both spent much time fishing and raising Scotch Highland cattle. In 2013 Jane and Edmond moved closer to their son Jan so that he could look after them.
Mrs. Stryker is survived by her son Jan (Mallory) of Hutchinson, Kansas and her daughter Melissa of Fredonia, Kansas; her brother Dr. Porter (Sue) Clark, of Independence, Kansas; three grandchildren, Emily (Jay) Kordonowy of Goddard, Kansas, Anna (Clayton) Osburn of Saint John, Kansas and William (Emily) Clausen of Lynnwood, Washington; and three great grandchildren, Jayce Kordonowy, Archer Osburn and Nash Clausen. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edmond Milburn Stryker and her brother, Jack Rollan Clark.
Mrs. Stryker will be buried in a private family ceremony at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Fredonia Arts Council and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
