Jeanette Fay Wilson, 75, Independence, Kansas passed away on January 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. A celebration of Jeanette's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Living Opportunities, P.O. Box 748 Iola, Kansas 66749 or may be left with the chapel.
Jeanette was born August 2, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri to Virgil and Elaine (Crosby) Norman. Jeanette attended Buffalo, Missouri schools until the age of 8, when the family moved to Wichita, Kansas where Jeanette graduated from Wichita East High School in 1960. Jeanette and Gerald L. "Pete" Wilson were married on April 10, 1962. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Jeanette was a homemaker and mother to Terry Lee. Jeanette was a longtime member of the VFW ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed dancing, crocheting, fishing, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Pete. Those left to honor her memory include her son Terry Lee Wilson, Chanute, Kansas; one sister Imogene Snide, Wichita, Kansas; two nephews, Mark W. (Lorra) Calvert, St. Louis, Missouri; Stephen R. (Nicole) Calvert, Wichita, Kansas; one niece, Lori A. (Leigh) Tinkham, Wichita, Kansas; and many great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
