John Hinson

John "Terry" Hinson JR; 77, Sycamore, Kansas passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Friends may register on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 8: oo am - 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heat Association or American Cancer Society and may be left with the chapel.
Terry was born November 28, 1937 in Sycamore, Kansas to John Terrell and Erma (Richardson) Hinson. Terry was raised in the Sycamore Valley Kansas area and graduated from Independence, Kansas High School in 1956 following high school Terry married Theta Reid on April 7, 1957 in Independence, Kansas. Following School Terry started his career for Guy James Construction Company building the Elk City, Kansas Dam in 1965. Terry continued his career in heavy constriction serving as a surveyor, blasting superintendent, estimator and secretary treasurer of Clearwater Constructors until his retirement in 1990. Following his retirement Terry returned back to Sycamore Valley to the family homestead where he served on the Rural Water Board and was a volunteer with Montgomery County Rural Fired Department Sycamore Division. Terry was an avid hunter, gardener, fisherman and camper and enjoyed summers with his grandchildren and teaching them the country way of living.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents those left to honor his memory are his wife Theta, of the home, son , John T. Hinson III and wife Tracy of Ceader Park , TX; Daughter Lesa Ragsdale and husband Robbie of Florence, TX; daughter Christy Hinson, of Sycamore, KS; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Wesley, Bear, Josh, Jake, Jessie, Cassidy and 5 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.
