Kenneth Carl Uitts was born April 1, 1935, to Paul and Berla (Davidson) Uitts, at home, just as the alarm was ringing, at their home North of Independence, KS. Kenny lived on that road for 74 years in 3 different houses.
He farmed with his great grandparents and parents as a boy on the dairy farm. They later had wheat, corn, and milo. They eventually added in cattle and hogs. His brother, son, and son-in-law were involved. Dozens of young men were hired as needed.
He got saved as a young boy. He attended Independence Bible School the first year the school opened, and he graduated in 1953. He met his future wife, Norma Jean Dryden, there and they married April 9, 1957.
Kenny loved God, family, and others. He loved his country and his freedom. He was always having a good laugh, fishing, grilling steaks, and sharing his resources for the enjoyment of others. He worked and played hard all his life. He shared his love of Jesus with all he could, starting as a twenty-two-year-old in the National Guard.
Preceding him in death were his parents Paul and Berla, sister Mary Lou, and niece Cheryl Lynn. Recently National Guard and church buddy Gerald Barnhart.
Kenny is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, ‘Jean’, son Randal Wayne (Brenda) CO, daughter Karla Jean Hunter (Elden) KS, Grandsons Matthew (Andrea) KS, Mark (Kayla), and Daryl Hunter KS, great grandchildren Joshua and Samantha Hunter, brother Rev. Clair Paul Uitts, nieces Debbie and Brenda Kay, nephews Buddy, CP, and Marvin. ‘Jeans’ nieces the late Brenda, Teresa, Rhonda, Annette and nephews Steve and John Jr. were also special to him.
