Kurtis Goodman

William “Kurtis” Goodman, 58, Independence, Kansas passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. John’s hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. The family will greet visitors on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the chapel.

Kurtis was born January 9, 1966 in Independence, Kansas to Jesse and Barbara (Holloway) Goodman. He attended school in Independence and graduated from Independence High School. During and following his education Kurtis was employed by Pizza Hut, The Store and then was the manager for Mikies for over fifteen years. Kurtis married Stacy Sherwood and the couple later divorced. Kurtis enjoyed playing softball, gambling, playing cards, sports betting and taking trips to Las Vegas with his friends.

Kurtis was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include three children, Josh ( Hayley ) Goodman, Independence, KS; Alyssa Goodman, Overland Park, KS; Cassie Goodman, Independence, KS; two brothers Tom ( Debbie ) Mavers, Independence, KS; Kevin Goodman, Siloam Springs, AR; and four grandchildren, Audra Burnett, Drayton Hill, Lane Ferguson, and Baker Ferguson.
