Larry Blagg

Larry Joe Blagg, 75, Independence, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the chapel. Memorials may be made to FORPAZ and may be left with the chapel.
Larry was born on April 3, 1942 in Independence, Kansas to Floyd and Beatrice (Snell) Blagg he attended Independence grade schools and Altamont High School. Larry was united in marriage to Donna Kay Eades on November 20, 1972 in Independence, Kansas. Larry was employed by the City of Independence, Kansas for 30 years as the Ralph Mitchell Zoo supervisor. In his spare time Larry enjoyed going to local nursing homes and singing to the residents. Larry was baptized on September 28, 1997 at Lighthouse Baptist Church and has been a member since. Larry loved his family and will be remembered for his hearty laugh.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Eddie Snell, and his wife of 37 years Donna. Those left to carry on Larry's legacy include one sister, Edee ( Clarence) Meadows, York, PA; one son, Gary ( Misty) Blagg, Independence, KS; one daughter, Lea Ann ( Thomas) Whitehead, Independence, KS; six grandchildren, Corey (Samantha) Stair, Independence, KS; Jesse ( Elizabeth) Stair, Independence, KS; Kaitlin Phillips-Blagg, Bartlesville, OK; Cameron Burlingame, Independence, KS; Christopher ( Lauren) Whitehead, Utah; Dustin Whitehead, Florida; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces; and nephews.
