LaVaughn Adams Frisco of Independence, Kansas, was born on February 23, 1927 and went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2014 at the age of 87. Born to Billy Adams and Christine Myers Adams Utsey in Huttig, Arkansas, LaVaughn grew up with her 3 siblings, Marene Adams, Velma Adams, and Hoover Utsey in the Arkansas area. LaVaughn moved to and built a wonderful life in Detroit, Michigan where she raised her daughter Barbara and was a faithful and active member of Allen Temple. La Vaughn married Rayford Frisco on December 31, 1972 and moved to Independence, Kansas. There she quickly became an active member of the community, giving tirelessly in her service to others and the Lord. For over 30 years, LaVaughn faithfully served as a stewardess and missionary for Quinn Chapel AME Church as well as served as a dedicated volunteer with Meals On Wheels for over 10 years. LaVaugh leaves behind her husband Rayford Frisco, a loving daughter Barbara Mclean, three step children James, Sandra, and Raye Frisco, 10 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren and countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday July 24, 2014 from 10am to 11am with funeral services immediately following at Webb Rodrick Chapel Crematory. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence. In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to Meals On Wheels of Independence and may be sent to the Chapel. There are no words to express the impact of the families loss, however, we take comfort in remembering the impact she had on all who were blessed to know and love her. Arrangements by Webb Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.
