Leland Kingsbury

Leland Kingsbury Jr., age 96 of Independence, Kansas passed away Monday, June 15, 2020. Leland was born January 15, 1924 in Fredonia, Kansas to Leland Sr. and Harriett Isabel (Parker) Kingsbury. He grew up in Fredonia, Kansas and attended rural schools.

On March 6, 1962 Leland married Wanda Joan Anderson and she preceded him in death on November 20, 1992. Leland worked at the Reed & Widick Feedstore and Elevator in Independence, Kansas for 20 years, Retiring in 1985.

Survivors include one son Charles Lee Kingsbury of Fredonia, Kansas; two grandchildren Brittany Irene Koehn and Erika Jean Randall, 6 great grandchildren; significant other Barbara Newton; two brothers Elmer and John Kingsbury; two sisters Edith Mitchell and Helen Anderson; two half sisters Linda Dodson and Carolyn Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his wife; infant daughter and three sisters Edna Troutman, Mary Conley and Ruby Fiscus.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Koger-Chetham Cemetery under the direction of the Webb & Rodrick Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Friends can leave online condolences at www.webbrodrickfuneralhome.com.
