Linda Lewis

Linda L. Lewis, 64, Independence, Kansas passed away at home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2020 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, KS. The family will receive visitor’s from 1:00 p.m. on Friday until service time.

Linda was born September 7, 1958 in Independence, Kansas to Buddy R. and Virginia (Vetaw) Hadley. She attended and graduated from Independence High School in 1977. Following her education, she married Tommy Richard Lewis in 1977. Linda was employed by KNI in Topeka, Kansas, Mercy Hospital and cleaned houses. Linda enjoyed spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tommy Richard Lewis, two brothers, LaDon Johnson, Steven Metcalf and one sister Sharon Edwards.  Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Tommy (Kimberly) Lewis, Independence, Kansas, two daughters, Latosha Lewis, Independence, Kansas, Aziza Woods, Independence, Kansas; five brothers, James ( Joyce) Hadley, Wichita, Kansas, Buddy Jr. ( Diane) Hadley, Topeka, Kansas, Maurice Hadley, Independence, Kansas, Dewitt Hadley, Wichita, Kansas, Rickey ( Tawanna) Hadley, Chanute, Kansas, five sisters, Carol Edwards, Wichita, Kansas, Sandra ( Reverend Melvin) Simpson, Coffeyville, Kansas, Shirley Hadley, Wichita, Kansas, Lisa Williams, Wichita, Kansas, LaDonna Hadley, Wichita, Kansas, Veronica Hadley, Topeka, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, Taylor Gress, Tyler Gress, Kaeson Lewis, Kenzi Lewis, Kingston Lewis, Jaylon Lewis, Shala Lewis, Davion Lewis, Treshawn Johnson, Miyah Lawrence, Dallas Lawrence, Niko Lawrence, Rayne Lawrence; and three great grandchildren, C.
