Linda Jean Tucker

Linda Jean Tucker, 72, Independence, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel.  Burial will follow in Rutland Cemetery rural Independence, Kansas.

Linda was born December 5, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Raymond Andres and raised by  Louise and Howard Welch. At a young age the family moved to Independence, Kansas where Linda attended and graduated from Independence High School. Linda married Donald L. Tucker on March 27, 1971, and the couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Linda was employed at several different places and spent the last several years working for Kinseys Restaurant until her retirement.

Linda was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She was in a bowling league and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tanya Lynn Tucker, three brothers, Larry, Leland Andres and Vernon Schaffer, one sister, Janice Golden. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Donald of the home, three children, Delbert Dwayne Tucker and Fiancée Amanda Mitchell, Independence, Kansas, Christopher Tucker ( Mindy Townsend) Ballston Spa, NY; one daughter, Tammy ( Rick ) Smithson, Lowell, AR;   one brother, Lonnie Ray ( Wanda)  Andres, Miami, Oklahoma; two sisters, Betty ( Ronnie) Kinsey, Judith ( Lewis) Johnson, Independence, Kansas. Six grandchildren, Joshua Smithson, Sapphire (Joshua) Rossicoe, Dallas Smithson, Kelly Tucker, fiancée Jonathan Woods, Lexi (Isaiah) Mayfield, Emily Tucker, nine great grandchildren, Aidyn Smithson, Austyn Smithson, Ares Smithson, Athena Smithson, Onyx Rossicoe, Jade Rossicoe, Emerald Rossicoe, Caroline Smithson, Carson Smithson, Layla Eytcheson, Carter Mayfield, Myles Mayfield, Vivian Patton.
