Lt. Colonel Ernest L. Faulkner, 91, died February 23, 2015, in Reno, NV.
Ernie was born July 16, 1923 in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles and Laura (Swaffort) Faulkner. In 1943, he married Evelyn Phillis in Independence, where they lived for the majority of their 62-year marriage.
The couple met during World War II when the test pilot was transferred to the Independence airbase, where Evelyn, working as clerk, issued him officer's equipment.
The two were soon married and spent their lives raising their three children, traveling, playing golf and enjoying life.
Following Evelyn's passing in 2006, Ernie has lived in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Grand Junction, CO, Santa Rosa, CA and Reno, NV.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Greg Hull of Reno, NV, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bill Giddings of Bird Island, OK, one son, Bob Faulkner of Independence, MO, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date
