Margaret (Marge) E. Crosslin, 93, Coffeyville, Kansas formerly of Elk City, Kansas passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Elk City United Methodist Church with Revered Terry Hatfield officiating burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Friends may register on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. With the family receiving visitors from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Elk City United Methodist Church and may be left with the chapel.
Marge was born November 19, 1924 in Madison Mills, Virginia to Edgar and Alice (Butler) Amos. She attended Madison Mills Schools. On July 18, 1946 Margaret married Edwin Paul Crosslin in Fall Church Virginia, The couple lived in Madison Virginia, Washington D.C., Lamont, Oklahoma, and Caldwell, Kansas before buying a farm in Elk City, Kansas in 1954.
Marge is a longtime member of the Elk City United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was involved in the United Methodist Women's Group, Elk City Grange, and a 4-H leader. Marge was also employed be Electra and K-Mart for over 20 years until her retirement. Marge loved living and working on the farm she enjoyed caring for the baby farm animals. She enjoyed gardening and kept an immaculate yard. Marge was a hard worker she wouldn't quit until the job was done, no matter what time it was. Marge stayed very active but always had time for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert, Roy and Earl Amos, one sister Julia Daniel, and two brother -in - law, Ashby Daniel and Jim Cox. Those left to treasure Marge's memory include one son Gary (Karen) Crosslin, New Douglas, Illinois, one daughter, Patricia ( Dennis) Newton, Elk City, Kansas, one sister, Patricia Cox, Manassas, Virginia, 6 grandchildren, Darren (Michelle) Newton, Elk City, Kansas, Leanna ( Bill) Newton Wiggins, Andover, Kansas, Kaycia ( Victor) Crosslin Buehler, Stanton, Illinois, Karissa (Chris) Crosslin Smith, New Douglas, Illinois, Kailey Crosslin, New Douglas, Illinois, Raymond Crosslin, Escondido, California, 5 great-grandchildren, Katie Wiggins, Colton Wiggins, Kelly Newton, Victor Buehler, and Kaliana Buehler.
