Marilyn White

Marilyn J. White, 73, of Independence, KS, passed away June 8, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. Marilyn was born April 5, 1941 in Chanute, KS to Virgil and Louise Trent Scott. The family later moved to Cherryvale, KS where Marilyn graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1959. She worked for various manufacturing businesses. She married Mike New on December 10, 1960 to this union they were blessed with 2 daughters and a son. The couple later divorced. Marilyn then moved to Oklahoma, while there she worked for Texaco and Drug Warehouse. On October 9, 1992 Marilyn married Robert White he preceded her in death in 2007. Marilyns joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Robert White. She is survived by her children Rne Alfred Zamora Independence, KS, David Acie New Parsons, KS, and Leza Mike Curtin Topeka, KS, her grandchildren, Amber Ryan McFarland Emporia, KS, Collin New Bentonville, AR, Dane Blumer Independence, KS, Drayton Blumer Shawnee, KS, her greatgrandchildren, Jace and Justin McFarland Emporia, KS, and her siblings, sister Donna John Williams, and brother Phil Kathy Scott both of Texas. Webb Rodrick Chapel Crematory have been entrusted with the services. Cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
