Mary Garrison

July 3, 1935 — January 19, 2018

Mary Lee Garrison age 82 of Independence passed away January 19, 2018 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Mary was born in Independence on July 3, 1935 to Clarence and Dorothy (Morrison) Adams. Mary attended local schools and graduated from Independence High School. She was united in marriage to Eugene Garrison on September 25, 1954. The couple was blessed with a son and daughter. Mary started her working career for Citizens Bank she then went to work for Arco Pipeline where she retired in 1992 after 37 years of devoted service. She enjoyed occasional trips to surrounding casinos, loved to needle point, working crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, bowling, and painting ceramics with her sister, Helen.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Gene Garrison of Independence, KS; son, Mark Garrison and wife Rebecca of Puyallup, WA; daughter, Debby Hinthorn Sandoval of Independence, KS; sisters, Helen Grabham and husband Jerald of Independence, KS, Martha Huggins of Olathe, KS, Barbara Eaton of Wichita, KS, Peggy Mann of Gardner, KS; grandchildren, Addyson Garrison of Puyallup, WA, and Haley Hinthorn of Independence, KS.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00am at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Chapel. The family suggests memorial be made payable to Shriners Hospital for Children and they may be sent in care of the Chapel.
