Max L. Hedges, 87, lifetime Elk City resident, passed away on Monday morning at home surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory, burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City. Friends may register on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 9: 00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left with the Chapel.
Max was born July 31, 1928 in Elk City, Kansas to John F. and Bessie F. (Wickham) Hedges and he attended Elk City Schools. Max enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. Max married Dollie Hannigan on December 10, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Max was self employed for many years. Max is a lifetime Member of the V.F.W. Post 1186. Max attended the First Christian Church in Elk City and was an avid Outdoorsman. Max will be remembered as a loving Father, Husband, grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, one son Rex Hedges, and one brother Jean R. Hedges. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Dollie, two sons Jim and wife Carolyn Hedges, Elk City, KS; Max A. and wife Rebecca Hedges, Elk City, KS; three daughters, Debbie and husband Virgil Imhoff, Independence, KS: Jane Robles, Kingwood, TX; Susan Jackson- Ervin and husband Jon, Skiatook, OK; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory.
