Michael Walker

Michael Byron Walker  72, of Independence, KS passed away March 9, 2021 at home. Michael was born February 6, 1949 to Maline Walls and Jack Walker. Michael was the youngest of four children. He attended elementary through high school, and college in Independence, KS. Michael married Connie Woodley they later divorced. Michael was drafted into the US Army on April 20th 1970, he was later honorably discharged on March 24th, 1975. He  then married Bertha Walker of that union they had Nakeeba Walker Ewan of Blue Springs, MO. they later divorced. He later married Velda  Walker  of that union they had Michael B. Walker Jr  of North Carolina and Tiffani Walker of Florida. In 1991 He married Sharon Bruner they were still happily married at the time of death. He was a wonderful father to her 3 children. Aaron Johnson of Tulsa, OK, Tamara Bruner of Tulsa, OK and Octavia Barker of Norman, OK .

Michael was a member of Maple Street Baptist Church and recently became a member of Bereen Christian Mission Center. He worked for the City of Independence  until he retired in 2008.

Michael's greatest past times were playing his keyboard (he loved to write and record his own music), being with his grandchildren he loved his grandkids and fixing things around the house.

He never met a stranger he loved everyone.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Walker, his children, twelve grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, step father Harry Tidwell, Brothers: Donald Anderson, and William Anderson. Sister: Jackie Jenkins
