Patricia Patty Ann Braden Economus, of Independence passed away October 3, 2014 at Montgomery Place. Patty was born on March 3, 1928 to Charles Braden and Rubye Faye Thornbrugh. She was raised in Independence and graduated from the Independence school systems. After graduation Patty found employment with Southwestern Bell as a switchboard operator. On September 20, 1945 she married John James Economus, to this union the couple was blessed with two children Anthony James and Rosemary Cassandra. Shortly after marriage the couple opened Johnnys Hamburgers on East Myrtle, where they proudly served the community for 34 years. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by a grandson John Michael Hamlin. Patty was preceded in death by her husband and 2 children.
Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place and memorial graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mount Hope Cemetery with Pastor Terry Hatfield officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to A.W.O.L.
Webb Rodrick Chapel Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
