Pauline L. Bales, Neodesha, KS passed away Saturday April 14, 2018. Memorial services for Pauline will be held at the Neodesha Church of the Nazarene on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation with family at Webb & Rodrick Chapel, Independence on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Pauline was born March 1, 1926 to Jack Roddy and Dolly (Fulton) Roddy near Cloud Chief, OK. She graduated from Mountain View High School, Mountain View, OK. Pauline work at an airplane factory during WWII in Fort Worth, TX. On June 24, 1948 she married Elvern Bales. The couple lived on a farm near Cowden, OK until 1953 when they moved to a farm outside of Cherryvale, KS. A few years later they moved to a farm southwest of Wayside, KS where they farmed for 33 years. In 1988, they moved to Independence, KS. Pauline worked at ACC for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and word searches. She and Elvern moved into Assisted Living in Neodesha where she lived for 8 years until her passing.
Pauline is survived by sister, Dora LaFrenierre of Visalia, CA; son Glen Bales and wife Twila; daughters Allene Bales, and Sarah Gomez; 5 grandchildren; and multiple great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvern; brothers, Carl, Everett, Doyal, and Burl; sisters, Evelyn, Helen, and Barbera Jo, and 3 infant deaths, and 2 great grandchildren.
