Raymond Kenzel Hare, 77, Elk City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Wilson County Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Friends may register on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving guest from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Louisburg Township Rural Fire Department and may be left with the chapel.
Kenzel was born March 10, 1938 to Raymond Lee and Anna Rebecca (Merritt) Hare. Kenzel attended and graduated from Elk City, Kansas Schools. He later married Carolyn Quigley on February 24, 1963 in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Kenzel was employed by Electra, Starcraft, Vining Electric, and then he started his own electrical business, Hare's Electric and then retired from Aptus. Kenzel and Carolyn later moved back to Elk City on a farm where he enjoyed farming and flying his ultra light airplane.
Kenzel was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Betty Ann Cook, Janice Reynolds and one grandson, Malachi Hare. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home, four children, Ruby Aemisegger, Independence, KS; Paula and husband Chip Schuler, Safford, AZ; Gary Hare, Independence, KS; Mike Hare, Elk City, KS;, four sisters, Judy and husband Morris "Stubb" Wilson, Independence, KS; Florence and husband Melvin McLaughlin, Wellsville, KS;, Sharon and husband Sonny Lewis, Prosper, TX; Helen and husband Bob McFatridge, Robinson, TX; and one brother, James "Jim" and wife Chris Hare, Independence, KS; as well as six grandchildren, Shilo and husband Jonathon Carnahan, Cody Goza, Scott Aemisegger, Adam Aemisegger, Andrew Hare, and Christina Evans.
