Reginald O. Hill 80 of Independence, KS passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, KS. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory of Independence, KS.
Celebration of life service will be Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Memorial United Methodist Church in Independence, KS with Pastor Art Tull officiating.
Reginald O. Hill was born January 22, 1938 in Cherryvale, KS to Elmo Jesse and Iva Lucille (Donals) Hill. Reginald attended school in Cherryvale and graduated in 1956 at Cherryvale High School. Reginald then attended Emporia State Teacher College and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business. He worked for Phillips Petroleum in the Treasure Department, for Faultless Casters in Evansville, IN as manager of the Treasure Department, for Ringstaff Lumber Yard in Cherryvale, KS for several years, and worked for Hughes Lumber in Independence, KS from the day it opened to the day it closed, being the last one to lock the gate, he also worked for Wal Mart for 14 years, where most knew him as the paint doctor.
Reginald was united in marriage to his first wife Betti Louise Kramer on June 7, 1959 and later divorced and their marriage was blessed with two daughters Cheryl Lynne (Hill) Lovett and Regina Luise Hill.
On June 4, 2001 Reginald was united to Gwendolyn (Gwen) Baylor in Cherryvale, KS at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Independence, KS. Reginald was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Independence, KS. He loved to Geo Cache, to read mystery books, going to rummage sales, antiquing, fishing, but most of all he loved his wife, his family, and his dog Graycie.
Reginald is survived by his loving wife, Gwen of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Lynne Lovett and husband Shawn of Mesquite, TX, and Regina Luise Hill of Tulsa, OK; one step-son Brandon Shatney of Coffeyville, KS; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Reginald is preceded in death by his parents; Elmo Jesse and Iva Lucille Hill; and one grandson Jacob Lyle Pruden.
