Reynaldo Junior Velasquez, Independence, passed away on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021. Cremation has taken place with Webb & Rodrick Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 24th, 2021 at 111am, visitation will be from 10-11am.
Reynaldo Junior Velasquez was born June 4th, 1966 in Upland, California. He was the son of Rose Linda Retes and Reynaldo Senior Velasquez. He graduated Independence High School in 1984. He entered the Army the day after graduation. He served his country for 8 years. He met his wife, Shirley Jimenez in California in 1993. They relocated back to Independence in 2002. Together they had two daughters.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, collecting albums, and shooting guns. Most of all he loved spending time with his family boating, having cook-outs and making his famous salsa and tacos for everyone to enjoy. Reynaldo also loved collecting oil lamps and his loyal chihuahua, Missy.
Those preceding him in death were his mother Rose Linda, grandmother Mary Retes and nephew Cory Long.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley of the home, daughters: Erica and Alyssa Velasquez; grandchildren: Paizlee Pearson, Tristen Etter and Carmen Ashford; step-father Eldon Woods; step-mother Debbie Woods; sisters: Corina Velasquez and Diane Muller; brother Daniel Sanchez; nieces and nephews: Sabrina Long, Brandon Long, Austin Woods, Parker Tessendorf, Shane Burchett and Darian Burchett.
