Richard Hardy

Richard “Wayne” Hardy, 93, Independence, Kansas passed away at home on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday August 5, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Wayne was born April 11, 1929, to Richard Glen and Hazel S. Massey in Union, Missouri. Wayne attended and graduated from Sarcoxie, Missouri Schools

Wayne was employed by Arco as a supervisor until his retirement. Wayne enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, tinkering in his shop, fishing and bird watching. Wayne is a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter Jo Ann Stom. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years Marolyn of the home, two daughters, Susan (Daryl) Sanborn, Gwendolyn (Larry) Rollo, one step-son Gregory Elliott, a half-brother, David (Jan) Massey, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great – great grandchild.
