Robbert W. Lausch, 84, of Independence, died Friday April 3rd, 2015 at Mercy Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Webb and Rodrick Chapel, Independence with Father Stephen Mahn Thapwa officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery Independence under the direction of the Webb and Rodrick Chapel Independence.
The family has suggested memorials to the St Andrews Catholic School, Independence and contributions may be left at the Webb and Rodrick Chapel in Independence.
Robbert was born March 6, 1931 in Protection, Kansas, Comanche County, the son of Fred and Edith (Lindsey) Lausch. He grew up in Scott City, Kansas and attended and graduated from the Scott City School System. He then entered the United States Air Force where he served four years and was a flight engineer.
On June 21, 1955 Robbert was united in marriage to Mary JoAnn Blaes and the couple made their home in Chanute, Kansas until they moved to Independence in 1986. JoAnn preceded Robbert in death in 2002.
Robert was a truck driver and hauled greyhound dogs all over the country. He and JoAnn also raised greyhound dogs.
He also was a member of the Independence VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include his care givers Judy Crismas of Independence, Ks. and Tom Paugh of Chanute, Kansas.
