Robert Charley R.C. Kinnard, age 80, of Independence, KS passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Independence. Funeral services will held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Rodrick Chapel with Elder Melvin Simpson officiating. The book will be available for signing on Thursday, July 3rd from 9:00 am until 5:00 p.m. at Webb Rodrick Chapel. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Webb Rodrick Chapel.
R.C. was born September 11, 1934 in Paris, Arkansas, the son of Robert Pink and Cecil Thomas Kinnard, he finished school at Wayside School. He was married Martha in 1955 and the couple later divorced, He married Betty in 1973 and she preceded him in death in 1995. R.C. had been employed by the City of Independence from 1974 until 1994 as well as Star Craft. Sinclair Oil, Star Mill, D C Welding and the Coffeyville Stockyard.
He is survived by his children: daughter Debbie Blackburn Willie, sons Robert C. Kinnard Jr. Caroline, Bernard R. Kinnard Rachel and Clifford R. Wright Debra. His grandchildren: Willie III, Whitn, Robert III, DeWayne, Justin, Brandon, Kristine, Bernard Jr., LaTonya, DeShonna, DamonCecille and Tamla, his greatgrandchildren: Kristina Mae, Demetrius, William Daris, Kaliha, Kyra, Devin, and Robert. He is also survived by his sisters: Priscella Brown Leonard, Gladys Brown Aaron and Lydia Flurry. Other survivors include: a host of nieces and nephews, and his long time companion of 19 years, Linda Niver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pink Cecil Kinnard and three brothers James, Henry and Charles.
