Ronald D. Sanders, 84, Elk City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Elk City and may be left with the chapel.

Ronnie was born July 29, 1938, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Joseph Lebern Sanders and Florence Leona (Vermeire) Sanders he attended and graduated from Ochelata Schools. Ronnie married Dorma Pannell on June 5th, 1959, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma the couple moved to Elk City, Kansas in 1961 where Ronnie was employed by Totah Communications until his retirement.

Ronnie was a longtime member of the Elk City United Methodist Church. He served on the city council of Elk City for ten years before serving as Mayor of Elk City for ten years. Ronnie took many mission trips to Haiti, North Dakota, and Louisiana. He also coached peewee baseball teams including a championship team. Ronnie was an avid coon, duck, and quail hunter and enjoyed fishing. Ronnie loved spending time with his family and watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play sports. He was also an avid Cardinals Baseball Fan!

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Donald Sanders, one sister Sharon Hawkins, and one granddaughter Jennifer Sanders. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Dorma of the home, one son Michael (Elaine) Sanders, Elk City, KS; two daughters, Kristi (Alan) Speicher, Elk City, KS; Jana (Keith) Groden, Jenks, OK; one sister Barbara (Mike) Rake, Bixby, OK; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Caitlyn) Sanders, Elk City, KS; Laura (Charles) Sanders, Independence, KS; Emily (Tim) Haynes, Independence, KS; Ethan (Angel) Speicher, Independence, KS; Tanner Vaughan, Tulsa, OK; Evan Speicher, Elk City, KS; Trey (Laney) Vaughan Pierce City, MO; Spencer (Carlie) Sanders, Ochelata, OK; Mollie Vaughan, Tulsa, OK; and 15 ¾ great-grandchildren.
