Sharon J. (Jones, Toomey) Miller, 83, of Independence, KS, was called from her earthly life to join her heavenly Father on June 5, 2020; no more sorrow, no more pain.
Sharon was born Feb 25, 1937, in Cherryvale, KS. She was the fifth of six children born to Charlie L. and Ethel E. (Lewis) Jones. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1955. Sharon married Robert L. Toomey on November 27, 1955 in Cherryvale, KS. They later divorced. To this union they had 2 children. Brian K. (Henrietta) Toomey and Sonja L. (Tony) Ezard. Sharon worked as a secretary during her career for several companies before retiring as an Executive Secretary for ARCO Pipeline in 1993. Sharon married C. Frank Miller on October 6, 2000 in Independence, KS. Frank went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2020. This union brought the total of children to five by adding Ruth A. (Jurgen) Hanke, Neodesha, KS. Mark F. (Jeanette) Miller, Lees Summit, MO. Leah S. (Jeff) Mosley, Carmel, IN. Her Lord blessed her with 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Surviving siblings include: John P. Jones, Irving, TX, Vivian C. Steele, Cherryvale, KS, Bob L. (Marian) Jones, Springfield, OR.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Donald E. Jones, Pismo Beach, CA, Marilyn E. Jones, Cherryvale, KS.
Sharon loved to play the piano and she enjoyed singing praises to her Lord in the church choir. She had also played with the Midcontinent Band, several Neewollah and ICC musicals in Independence. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Midcontinent Band. Sharon also served as secretary during Frank Millers run for state representative.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her family, friends and their dog Brutus, all of whom she cherished.
