Shirley Arlene Davidson, 90, Independence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Friends may register on Friday from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Shirley was born January 26, 1928 in Elk City, Kansas to Roscoe and Alta (Clark) Nance. Shirley attended Elk City, Kansas Schools. She married Max Davidson on September 5, 1959 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas and Shirley was employed by Sinclair Oil as a Comptometer. Following her employment with Sinclair Shirley was a homemaker and cared for her grandchildren. Shirley enjoyed being outdoors and was a longtime member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Max, six siblings. Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Jeffrey Dean Davidson, Ottawa, KS; Gayle Elaine (Dan) Junk, Driftwood, TX; and Donna Marie ( Tom) Bryant, Independence, KS; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
