Spencer Smith

Spencer Lewis Smith was born on July 6, 1972 in Independence, Kansas and passed away on January 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loma Sue Smith. Left to mourn his loss is his dad and stepmom, Paul and Alta Smith, his sister, Laurinda Rutledge, and nephew and wife Mykel and Eden Mellen.

In his younger years he attended Independence Bible School. Over the years he worked various jobs including working for his dad and was self-employed. At a young age he was singing and playing a guitar and realized the talents that he had. Over the years he played for several local bands and is an accomplished author, with two books published and for sale on Amazon. He was a member of the Independence Country Club and loved the game of golf. He appreciated the outdoors, the socialization, and the challenge that golf presented. He also enjoyed fishing, and loved animals, having numerous cats, dogs, and birds over the years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed fantasy football and was a moderator for one of the Cowboys websites. He was intelligent, talented, and touched many different people in different ways. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
