Tom F. Richardson

Thomas Franklin Richardson, 89, went home to be with his Savior on November 5th, 2024, in Independence, KS.

Tom was born on December 31st, 1934 in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Daniel Richardson and Clara Musgraves- Richardson. On September 9th, 1978, Tom married Connie Pursley in Independence. He was a graduate of Cape Central High school. He received his Master's Degree from SEMO (Southeast Missouri State University). After college he was a cartographer for the government followed by teaching school for a short time. Then he transitioned into becoming an insurance adjuster for GAB. Upon early retirement from GAB he spent more then 20 years subbing in Independence School System. While subbing he also hardly ever missed an athletic game, a practice, rain or shine. He was a true Bulldog Fan!

There are many things that Tom enjoyed in life. A few of those are gardening, bike riding while listening to Mozart, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. He joyfully served at his church, First United Methodist, teaching Sunday School and serving in other areas.

Survived by his loving wife Connie, son Bruce (Jennifer) of Newport, AR, daughter Anna Elliott (Jason) of Broken Arrow, OK, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, son Jeff Richardson, siblings: Sonny Richardson, Jim Richardson, Danny Richardson, Michael Richardson, Lorna Baker, Francis Miner, Betty Ross.

Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Independence, KS, on November 14, 2024 at 10 a.m., officiated by Pastor Sangyeop Han and Pastor Harold Groth. 

In lieu of flowers, we suggest memorials be given in Tom's name to First United Methodist Church, Independence, KS or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Coffeyville, KS.

Interment will take place at Round Mound Cemetery, Cedar Vale, KS.
