Wanda Mae Daugherty, 70, of Smith Station, Alabama formally of Elk City, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Smith Station, Alabama. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at Simpson Cemetery in Rural Elk City, Kansas. Friends may register from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. and the family will greet visitors from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Catholic Church and may be left with the chapel.
Wanda was born June 10, 1946 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Lawrence R. and Mary C. (Novotny) Gaut. Wanda graduated from Elk City High School in 1964. Wanda was employed by Four County Mental Health and retired in 2015. Wanda loved gardening, wood working, reading, and her family and grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father; Lawrence Gaut, her husband; Joe Daugherty, and a grandson; Matthew Daugherty. Survivors include her mother; Mary C. Gaut, one brother; Kenneth Gaut, one son; Mark Daune Daugherty, one daughter; Juanita June Sutton, two granddaughters; Alyssa, Autumn, and one grandson; William.
