William Redman

February 25, 1940 — August 7, 2014

William Bill Redman, age 74, of Maple Valley, WA, formerly of Independence, KS passed away on August 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014 at Webb Rodrick Chapel with Pastor Darren Melton, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors. Friends may sign the register book at Webb Rodrick Chapel on Thursday, August 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 5.:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Riverside Park and Zoo and memorials may be left at the chapel.

Bill was born February 25, 1940 in Independence, the son of Gerald and Macy Ritchie Redman. He attended Independence Schools and graduated in 1958. He furthered his education at ICC, Pittsburg State University and finished his degree at Wichita State University. Bill served in the Armed Forces first in the U.S. Marine Corps and later in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968 serving in North Africa. He retired from Boeing Computer Services as a software buyer.

He is survived by his sons: Joseph and wife Vicki of Pittsford, NY, William Dale Redman of Raytown, MO and Michael and wife Kim of Independence, KS as well as one grandson, Robert Alex Redman of Pittsford, NY. He is also survived by his sisterinlaw, Margarette Redman, niece, Christy and nephew Todd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Macy Redman, his brother, Gerald Redman and his granddaughter, Shawnee Redman.

Webb Rodrick Chapel Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
